Around 70 people attended the fifth annual �A Clearer Future� Conference, which took place on Thursday 17th September 2009 at the Royal Victoria Holiday Inn, Sheffield.
This year�s conference was hosted by Care4Air and the Low Emission Strategies (LES) Partnership, and saw a range of national speakers addressing key issues in improving air quality and focusing on the adoption of LES by local authorities. Keynote Speaker, Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Minister of State, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), set the tone for the day and highlighted the importance of working to together to tackle air pollution.
The day drew to a close with a presentation from Care4Air coordinator, Mark Daly, providing an overview of the first five years of Care4Air.

The conference brought together environmental consultants, planners, health professionals, developers and those with a interest in clean air and carbon reduction from across the UK, creating a platform for discussion, highlighting best practice, cross communication and networking.
