Tim ChattertonAround 70 people attended the sixth annual 'Clearer Future Conference', which took place on Wednesday 22nd September 2010 at the Hilton Hotel, Sheffield.

This years conference was hosted by Care4Air and saw a range of national speakers addressing key issues around meeting air quality targets in 2015 and beyond.

Keynote speaker, Tim Chatterton, Air Quality Management Resource Centre, began the day by looking at the reasons why we have failed to achieve significant improvements in air quality over the last decade and the lessons we need to learn from this in order to meet the environmental and public health challenges facing us through the rest of this century.

The day drew to a close with an interactive Q and A Session chaired by Jack Pease, Air Quality Bulletin. Interactive voting pads were used which gave delegates an opportunity to interact and discuss current air quality issues.

The conference brought together environmental consultants, planners, health professionals, developers and those with a interest in clean air and carbon reduction from across the UK, creating a platform for discussion, highlighting best practice, cross communication and networking.

Delegate comments:

  • The Q&A sessions were very interesting and useful
  • Good content, well organised
  • Excellent all round!
