ENVIRONMENT MINISTER PRAISES CARE4AIR AND ECO STARS
May 2011
Environment Minister Lord Henley has praised Care4Air and the ECO Stars Fleet Recognition Scheme.
In a recent visit to Sheffield, Lord Henley toured the city and met with representatives from Sheffield City Council, local businesses and campaigns at the forefront of environmental issues.
He praised the innovative, interesting and informative campaigns for their approach to tackling air quality issues.
Care4Air has been providing information to help people, schools and businesses 'do their bit' to improve air quality for seven years. For five of those years it has held the title of best air quality website from the Air Quality Bulletin.
The ECO Stars Fleet Recognition Scheme is the first of its kind in the UK a free, voluntary scheme designed reduce emissions by providing recognition and guidance to operators of goods vehicles, buses and coaches across South Yorkshire.
Both campaigns are Green Apple Award winners for Environmental Best Practice.
