Doncaster Pupils’ Lessons In Environmental Awareness
September 2008
A team of pupils from a Doncaster school have been praised by Care4Air, for taking the lead on environmental awareness, and encouraging teachers and pupils at their school to adopt environmentally-friendly habits.

Dunsville Primary School’s ‘Environment Action Team’ developed posters urging people to switch off lights and equipment when not in use, planted a garden area for each classroom, and carried out an Environmental Review. In addition, the pupils also took part in assembly and classroom sessions on energy efficiency and carbon footprints in the home.
To recognise their hard work on raising awareness of environmental issues, the pupils were presented with a Doncaster Council Active Students Gold Award.
Councillor Stuart Exelby of Doncaster Council said: “Well done to the young people of Dunsville Primary School. The knowledge they have gained is invaluable and they will be able to put this into practice at home, at school and throughout their lives.”
